All proceeds from the event benefit Lauren’s First and Goal Foundation, which provides financial support for brain tumor research and cancer services, offers financial and emotional support to families living with pediatric cancer, and increases awareness of the disease.

Thirteen families competed for the “Best Chili” award, as well as the “Spiciest” and “People’s Choice” awards. Contestants included: the Diforte family, the Flannigan family, the Sikora family, the Koerwitz family, the Frank family, the Miers family, the Chicchi family, the Embardino family, the Ozgar family, the Stem family, the D'Aquino family and the Koose family. Everyone that participated received a Lauren’s First and Goal t-shirt.

“We are very grateful to the Forks Youth Football organization and families for joining in Lauren's Circle of Strength in such a creative and fun way,” said LFG founder Marianne Loose. “The Chili Cook-Off is a wonderful example of a true community effort to raise awareness and funds for pediatric brain tumor research.”
